A Letter from Ms. Thostenson:

It is my pleasure to welcome you to St. Lucy School for the 2023-24 school year! Now in my fourth school year as principal at St. Lucy, I am energized and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of your children. We will accomplish this by setting high academic expectations for all children and providing supportive systems to assure they are met. By focusing on positive school culture, setting high standards for teacher performance, increasing academic expectations for all students, and engaging the community, all St. Lucy students will be prepared for a bright and successful future!

While all of those aspects are important, the safety and health of your students and our staff remain our top priority. We have been working hard to get everything ready to welcome students back into the building! We are committed to supporting you and your students the best that we can during the pandemic and beyond.

I know there are many challenges right now during these uncertain times, but I want to reassure you that we are going to do our very best to keep your students safe, happy, and healthy. Our remarkable staff, involved parents, and committed students will come together to make St. Lucy a wonderful, safe, and unique place.

In closing, please know that my door is always open to you. I heartily welcome your conversation and positive input throughout this year. Let us always keep our students the primary focus of our work. The best way to contact me currently is by email: sthostenson@sienacatholicschools.org. I will respond as quickly as I can, but always within 24 hours. I look forward to celebrating our collective successes during the 2023-24 school year.
